Dave Edwards, American football player, Died at 76

David Monroe Edwards was born on December 14, 1939, and died on December 6, 2016.

He was an American football linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.

Dave played college football for Auburn University.

He attended Abbeville High School and went on to play college football at Auburn University.

He was 6’1″ tall and 198 lbs, Edwards was a two-way player at end, who could be used as a receiver or as an accomplished tackler.

Whilst he was a senior he was named to the All-SEC team.

During 1962, Dave played in the Senior Bowl.

During that game, Tom Landry coached the opposing team (North).

During 1987, Dave was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

He died in his sleep, the day he was scheduled to undergo tests at a Waco hospital.

Dave Edwards passed away at 76 years old.
