Dalian Robert Atkinson was born on March 21, 1968, and died on August 15, 2016.

He was an English former footballer.

Atkinson played as a striker.

In his club football career, he played in England for Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Dalian Atkinson also played for many teams abroad; in Spain for Real Sociedad, in France for Metz, in the Turkey for Fenerbahçe, in Saudi Arabia for Al-Ittihad, and in South Korea for Daejeon Citizen and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

However, despite an encouraging start, he failed to settle in Turkey and had loan spells with FC Metz and Manchester City before leaving in 1997 and winding down his career with spells in Saudi Arabia and South Korea, finally retiring as a player in 2001.

He represented England B in a friendly 4–1 loss against the Republic of Ireland on March 27, 1990.

He scored England’s only goal in the game.

He died in Telford, Shropshire, England.
