Dag Gundersen was born January 15, 1928, in Ringsaker, Hedmark and died on February 2, 2016.

He was a Norwegian linguist and lexicographer, dictionary editor and professor.

Dag was a professor at the University of Oslo from 1985 to 1997.

Gundersen has been editor of several of dictionaries of the Norwegian language.

Dag Gundersen was a member of the Norwegian Language Council from 1990 to 2000.

And he was also a member of Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, since 1993.
