Colin Anfield Hughes was born May 4, 1930, in The Bahamas and died on June 30, 2017.
He was a Bahamian-born British-Australian academic specializing in electoral politics and government.
Hughes grew up with his Welsh father, John Anfield Hughes, was a school administrator, and later district commissioner of several Bahamian islands.
In World War II, Hughes moved to the United States where he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Columbia University and his Ph.D from the London School of Economics.
Colin Hughes passed away at 87 years old.
