Claude Jeancolas was born in 1949 and died on February 17, 2016.

He was a French writer, art historian and journalist.

He was best known for his expertise on Arthur Rimbaud.

Claude Jeancolas started his career as the head of the financial analysis department of the weekly magazine Entreprise; he then created two management journals: Enseignement et gestion and the Revue Française de Gestion.

Following that, Claude Jeancolas took over the head of the avant-garde monthly Mode international.

A few yrs later years later, he edited the magazines Collections, Décoration, and Mariages.

Claude Jeancolas relocated to Votre Beauté, a magazine that François Mitterrand edited at the beginning of his career.

Jeancolas later begame a member of the the Hachette Group, which is now the Lagardère Group, as international editor of Elle (four editions created worldwide) and Elle Décoration (14 editions created worldwide).

Claude Jeancolas also created Cousteau Junior and Max. He is currently the director of Marie Claire maison and Marie Claire travel magazines in Milan.

Claude Jeancolas passed away on February 17, 2016.
