Christopher Rhodes de Freitas was born in 1948, in Trinidad and died on July 5, 2017.
He was a New Zealand climate scientist.
Chris de Freitas was an associate professor in the School of Environment at the University of Auckland.
In his time at the University of Auckland, Chris served as deputy dean of science, head of science and technology, and for four years as pro vice-chancellor.
He was an editor for the journal Climate Research, Chris de Freitas had responsibility for sending papers out for review.
During four instances, questions were raised about the review process of papers he had handled.
He died due to cancer.
Chris de Freitas passed away at 68 years old.
