Chor Yeok Eng, Singaporean politician, Died at 86

Chor Yeok Eng was born on January 29, 1930, and died on July 21, 2016.
He was a well known first generation People’s Action Party (PAP) politician in Singapore.
In 1959, he became first elected for the constituency of Jurong and defeated in 1963.
Chor was elected as a parliamentary member for Bukit Timah Single Member Constituency serving from 1966 to 1984.
He was considered as one of the ‘Old Guard’ – the first generation of leaders of independent Singapore.
Yeok Eng was one of its remaining living members, outliving Lee Kuan Yew, along others like Othman Wok, Ong Pang Boon and Jek Yeun Thong.
Chor Yeok Eng had three daughters, two sons, three grandsons and two great-grandsons.
Chor Yeok Eng passed away at 86 years old.
