Chinese politician, Yang Ziyuan, Died at 90

Yang Ziyuan was born on April 1928 and died on October 27, 2018.

He was a Chinese politician.

Ziyuan served as Mayor of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, from 1988 to 1990.

Amid World War II, Ziyuan looked for asylum in Meizhou, and later in Sichuan Province, where he went to class.

After the surrender of Japan, Ziyuan went to Guangzhou in 1946 to go to Sun Yat-sen University, where he joined the underground Communist youth affiliation.

After the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, he worked in the legislature of Guangzhou and in addition Guangzhou Iron and Steel Company, and later progressed toward becoming leader of the Guangzhou Alloy Steel Factory.

Ziyuan was designated Vice Mayor of Guangzhou in 1985, and elevated to Mayor in June 1988, when he was 60.

Ziyuan filled in as leader for a long time, and progressed toward becoming Chairman of the Guangzhou CPPCC in 1991.

Yang passed away in Guangzhou at 90 years old.
