Cephas George Msipa was born on July 7, 1931, and died on October 16, 2016.
He was a Zimbabwean politician.
He was educated at Siboza School from 1941 to 1943 before going to Dadaya Mission where he was taught by Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole.
Cephas Msipa left school in 1949 but returned to Dadaya in 1951 to train as a primary school teacher.
From 1953 to 1954, he studied privately for his Matriculation Exemption Certificate.
Msipa taught at schools in Shabani, Kwekwe from 1953 to 1957.
Cephas Msipa was Headmaster for schools in Harare from 1959 to 1964.
As a teacher for many years he became interested in politics.
Initially he was interested in the multi-racial Capricorn Africa Society and the CAP.
Cephas later joined the Advisory Board in Kwekwe and became its chairman.
Cephas also acted as the Midlands Province correspondent for the African Daily News.
Later, Cephas joined Zimbabwe African People’s Union (ZAPU) in 1961.
Sharlottie Msipa was his wife and they had eight children.
He died at West End clinic in Harare, due to a suspected chest infestion.
Cephas Msipa passed away at 85 years old.
