Cees Fasseur, Dutch historian and legal scholar, Died at 77

Cornelis (Cees) Fasseur was born on December 11, 1938, in Balikpapan in Dutch East Indies, and died on March 13, 2016, in Leiden.

He was a Dutch historian and jurist.

Cees Fasseur was often seen as a historian but has never studied history.

Cees Fasseur spent part of his first childhood years in a Japanese POW camp in Java.

Following that, he attended elementary school and Gymnasium in Leiden.

Cees Fasseur studied from 1957 to 1965 Law at the University of Leiden, where he was a member of the Leiden Student Union and the Leiden Historical Debating Robert Fruin.

Cees Fasseur passed away at 77 yrs old.
