Cauby Peixoto was born on February 10, 1931, and died on May 15, 2016.

He was a Brazilian singer.

His long career lasted from the late 1940s until his death in 2016.

Peixoto was known for his deep voice and extravagant mannerisms and hairstyles.

He had a brief career in the United States in the 1950s, he had presented under the pseudonyms Ron Coby or Coby Dijon.

Cauby Peixoto had recorded his first album in 1951 which was called “Saia Branca”, at the time, for not being very famous, there was little effect.

However, he decided to go to São Paulo, in 1952, where he met a man who changed his life, his name was Di’ Veras, which was a famous talent manager, and was known for his great marketing strategies.

The singer released his first hit in Brazil, Blue Gardenia in a Portuguese version, at the time, success in the voice of Nat King Cole, greatest Idol of Cauby.

Manager Di’ Veras handled Cauby until 1958, when Cauby Peixoto reached the 5th place among the most played albums in the USA.

Cauby Peixoto was named by Time and Life’ magazines as the Brazilian Elvis Presley.

During 1957, Cauby Peixoto was the first Brazilian singer to record a rock song in Portuguese, the song Rock and Roll in Copacabana, composed by Miguel Gustavo, also author of the march “Pra frente, Brasil”.

Cauby Peixoto passed away at 85 yrs old, due to pneumonia.
