Carina Jaarnek née Kina Jaarnek was born on December 26, 1962, and died on January 16, 2016.

She was a Swedish singer.

Through the 1970s, Carina was a part of the dansband Frösöflickorna, and during the 1980s in the dansbands Bosse Påhlssons orkester and Alfstarz.

Following that she started her own band called Carina Jaarneks orkester.

She has often been referred to as “The dansband queen of Sweden”.

She first appearance on the Svensktoppen charts came in 1986 with the song “Natten tänder ljus på himlen”.

Carina took part in Melodifestivalen 1994 along with her younger brother Mikael Jaarnek with the song “Det är alrig försent”, she again participated in Melodifestivalen 2002 with the song “Son of a Liar”, which made it to the second chance round.

Miss Jaarnek came third of fifteen countries in the Sopot International Song Festival in 1995 with the song “I want you back my love”, the original Swedish title was “Då vaknar kärleken”.

She has an older sister, Towe Jaarnek, is also a singer.

Miss Jaarnek recorded an album along with Elvis Presley musicians James Burton, Jerry Sheff, Glen D Hardin, Ronnie Tutt, Charlie Mc Coy, BB Cunningham, Billy Swan, DJ Fontana and Paul Burlison in Memphis in 2005.

That album won her a Guldklaven-award.

Carina also recorded songs in Los Angeles where guitarist Albert Lee participated.

Carina Jaarnek passed away at 53 yrs old due to a cerebral haemorrhage.
