Gaétan Gervais was born on August 10, 1944, in Sudbury, Ontario, and died on October 20, 2018.

He was a Franco-Ontarian author, historian and Canadian professor.

Working with Michel Dupuis, the pair designed the Franco-Ontarian flag and was a founding member of the Franco-Ontarian Institute.

He was a graduate from Laurentian University in 1965.

Gaétan Gervais received his master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Ottawa in 1968 and 1979.

Since 1972, Gaétan Gervais was a professor at Laurentian University.

Gaétan Gervais passed away at 74 years old.
