Douglas Rain was born on March 13, 1928, in Winnipeg, Manitoba and died on November 11, 2018.

He was a Canadian actor and narrator.

In spite of the fact that basically a phase on-screen character, he gave the voice of the HAL 9000 PC for the film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and its continuation, 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984).

Douglas Rain was the child of Mary, a medical attendant, and James Rain, a rail yard switchman.

His folks were from Glasgow, Scotland.

Douglas Rain considered acting at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Banff, Alberta, and the Bristol Old Vic Theater School in Bristol, England.

Rain was an establishing individual from the Stratford Festival of Canada in 1953 and was related with it as a phase performing artist until 1998.

He leaves three youngsters and a grandkid behind.

He performed in a wide assortment of showy jobs, for example, a creation of Henry V organized in Stratford, Ontario, that was adjusted for TV in 1966.

In 1972, Rain was designated for the Tony Award for Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Dramatic) for his execution in Vivat! Vivat Regina.

He passed on November 11, 2018, at 90 years old at St. Marys Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ontario, of common causes.
