Cingireddi Narayana Reddy was born on July 29, 1931 and died on June 12, 2017.

He was better known as C. Narayana Reddy or Cinare.

He was an Indian Telugu and Urdu poet and song writer.

He produced over eighty short literary works which included poems, prose-plays, lyrical plays, translations, and ghazals.

Narayana Reddy won Sahitya Akademi Award in 1973 for his poetry collection Mantalu Manavudu.

Narayana Reddy was awarded an honorary Kala Prapoorna by Andhra University in 1978, the Raja-Lakshmi Award by the Sri Raja-Lakshmi Foundation of Madras in 1988.

Narayana Reddy won the Jnanpith Award in 1988 for Viswambhara and was conferred with the Sahitya Akademi fellowship in 2014.

Cingireddi Narayana Reddy passed away at 85 years old.
