Bryan Pearson, British-born Canadian politician, Died at 82

Bryan Pearson was born on May 30, 1934, and died on October 12, 2016.
He was a territorial level politician from Northwest Territories, Canada.
He was born in England and after working on ships in Britain and Australia came to Canada in 1956.
He was first elected to the Northwest Territories Legislature in the 1970 Northwest Territories general election.
Pearson won the electoral district of Eastern Arctic and held that district until it was abolished in the 1975 redistribution.
He ran for re-election and won the new Baffin South electoral district in the 1975 Northwest Territories general election.
Bryan did not return after the legislature was dissolved in 1979.
He attempted a political comeback in the 1991 Northwest Territories general election running in the Iqaluit electoral district.
Pearson was defeated in a three way race by Dennis Patterson.
He was the first mayor of the then Town of Frobisher Bay from 1979 to 1985 and previous as Chairman of the Village from 1969 to 1979.
He died due to cancer in Iqaluit.
Bryan Pearson passed away at 82 years old.
