Bruno Zuppiger was born on February 24, 1952, in St. Gallen and died on February 19, 2016.

He was a Swiss management consultant and politician.

He was a member of the conservative Swiss People’s Party, he served on the Swiss National Council representing the Canton of Zürich.

In 1976, Bruno Zuppiger graduated from the University of St. Gallen and the Zürich Teachers’ Seminary.

Following his service as a schoolteacher, Bruno served as secretary and then director of the Trade Association of the Canton of Zürich from 1982 to 1995.

After that, he operates an independent consultancy firm and serves on the board of several corporations.

Rösli Zuppiger-Stocker, was his wife, with whom he had five children, and lived in Hinwil.

Bruno Zuppiger retired with the grade of colonel from militia service in the Swiss Army, in 2001, where he commanded an aid and rescue regiment (Rttg Rgt 91) since 1997.

Between 1982 to 1990, he has represented the Swiss People’s Party in the Hinwil municipal government

Between 1988 to 1994, Bruno headed the local party section.

Bruno Zuppiger has served on the board of the cantonal party section since 1993.

He also served the People’s Party in the cantonal parliament of Zürich, from 1991 to 1999.

Zuppiger was elected to the National Council, in 1999.

Zuppiger was chairman of the National Council’s Finance Committee and also served on the Security Policy Committee.

Bruno Zuppiger passed away at 63 yrs old.
