Boutros Boutros-Ghali/بطرس بطرس غالى Buṭrus Buṭrus Ghālī was born on November 14, 1922, and died on February 16, 2016, in Cairo, Egypt.
He was an Egyptian politician and diplomat.
He was the sixth Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) from January 1992 to December 1996.
Boutros Boutros-Ghali was an academic and former Vice Foreign Minister of Egypt, he oversaw the UN at a time when it dealt with several world crises, including the break-up of Yugoslavia and the Rwandan Genocide.
Boutros Boutros-Ghali was then the first Secretary-General of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie from November 1997 to December 2002.
He was in a hospital after being admitted for a broken pelvis, on February 16, 2016.
Boutros Boutros-Ghali passed away at 93 yrs old.
