Bořek Šípek, Czech architect and designer, Died at 66


Bořek Šípek was born on June 14, 1949, in Prague, anFebruary 13, 2016.

He was a leading Czech architect and designer.

He was renowned for his individual, unusual, colorful and rich style. He experiments with unexpected and often opulent shapes.

He was said to be the father of “neo-baroque”.

Bořek Šípek architectural works and other designs are known worldwide, and he retains offices in Amsterdam, Prague and Shanghai.

He was the architect of Prague Castle under the presidency of Václav Havel, and the designed of Havel’s Place.

Sipek was the knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Borek had three sons, one of them with Leona Machálková.

Bořek Šípek passed away at 66 yrs old due to cancer.
