Bohdan Hawrylyshyn was born on October 19, 1926, and died on October 24, 2016.

He was an economist and economic advisor to the Ukrainian government.

Bohdan Hawrylyshyn was a full member of the Club of Rome, long-time director of Switzerland’s International Management Institute ( now International Institute for Management Development), founder of the European Management Forum in Davos (now World Economic Forum), fellow and member of the Board of the World Academy of Art and Science.

He also acted as the consultant to General Electric, IBM, Unilever, Phillips and advisor to several countries.

When Ukraine declared independence in 1991, Hawrylyshyn has been an advisor to several Ukrainian prime ministers, as well as to most chairmen of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada.

He has 5 honorary doctorates, a gold medal from President of the Italian Republic, 2 medals from presidents of Ukraine.

As of 1988, Hawrylyshyn works mainly in Ukraine, created International Management Institute which he chairs, chaired International Centre for Political Studies, initiated the creation of a number of student organizations, acted as advisor to the first President of Ukraine, four successive chairmen of Parliament, three prime ministers.

He was now focus on youth organizations through Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Charitable Foundation.

Bohdan Hawrylyshyn passed away at 90 years old.
