Bob Aiken was born in Barrow, and died on November 3, 2015, in Anchorage.

He was an American Inuit WEIO athlete and former board member.

Big Bob was his nickname, considered the world’s largest Eskimo.

He won 6 gold medals in the Eskimo Stick Pull, from 1982 to 1987.

Bob currently holds the world record for multiple WEIO games, and is considered a WEIO legend.

He was 6t 4 and Weighing nearly 500 pounds during the stages of his competitive career.

His many game record also includes the Indian Stick Pull, with seven gold medals, and the Arm Pull, with the most wins to date.

Aiken was also an influential coach and mentor for numerous WEIO athletes past and present.

Bod received dialysis, he had lost one kidney and was on a transplant list

Bob Aiken passed away at 62 years.
