Blas Avena was born on June 30, 1983, and died on May 4, 2016.

He was an American professional mixed martial artist.

Blas competed in the welterweight division of Bellator MMA.

Avena has been a professional since 2005, Avena also competed for the WEC.

He had moved from southern California to Las Vegas in 2004 to work as a security guard for the Hard Rock Cafe and then later made his professional MMA debut in 2005.

Blas compiled an overall record of 3-0 before being signed by the WEC.

On January 20, 2007, Blas made his promotional debut at WEC 25 against Logan Clark, he lost via TKO in the third round.

In the morning, Avena’s body was discovered by police in a Las Vegas hotel room, reportedly he had apparently committed suicide.

Blas Avena passed away at 32 yrs old.
