Billy Redmayne died on April 19, 2016.
He was a Manx soldier and motorcycle racer.
Billy native of Laxey, he served in the Parachute Regiment in the War in Afghanistan.
Previously, she career was disrupted by two tours of duty in 2011 and 2012; as of 2013, he was able to devote all of his time to racing.
Billy Redmayne won the Newcomers Manx Grand Prix in 2014 and the Junior Manx Grand Prix a year later.
Redmayne was hit from behind by another competitor in a crash at the Oliver’s Mount Spring Cup in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, on April 17, 2016.
Redmayne was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Redmayne died on his second anniversary with his partner Hannah Wright, who said that he had died doing what he loved.
Redmayne’s brain injuries were too severe for him to recover, and his partner and family made a decision for his life support to be switched off and his organs donated.
Billy was due to debut at the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT in the summer.
Billy Redmayne passed away at 25 yrs old.
