Bill Stanfill, American football player, Died at 69

William Thomas Stanfill was born on January 13, 1947, and died on November 10, 2016.

He was a defensive end.

He played for the Miami Dolphins of the American Football League and then the NFL after the AFL-NFL merger of 1970.

Stanfill was a member of Miami’s two Super Bowl-winning teams.

He attended Cairo High School in Cairo, Georgia, where he was a three-sport star in football, basketball, and track and field.

During his football years, as a senior, he was named the Class AA Lineman of the Year after leading his team to three Region Championships.

Playing basketball, as a senior, he led his team to the state championship and was named the state tournament MVP.

While he did track and field, he added three state discus and one shot put AA titles.

Bill Stanfill passed away 69 years old.
