Belchior was born Antônio Carlos Gomes Belchior, October 26, 1946, and died on April 30, 2017.

He was a Brazilian singer and composer.

Belchior was one of the first MPB singers from the Brazilian northeast to reach mainstream success, in the early 1970s.

Elis Regina recorded his composition Mucuripe (with Fagner) in 1972, later was recorded by Roberto Carlos.

The TV show found Belchior living with his wife Edna in a small village in San Gregorio de Polanco, Uruguay, on August 30, 2009.

Belchior passed away at 70 years old.
