Barbara Christina Elisabeth Helsingius-Koski (née Helsingius) was born on September 27, 1937, and died on March 9, 2017.

She was a Swedish-speaking Finnish singer, poet, and Olympic fencer.

Barbara took part at the 1960 Summer Olympics.

She was trained as a gym teacher, she took her masters in pedagogy at Stanford University (1963).

Barbara Helsingius lived in Oslo with her husband, Hank Koski, a diplomat at the USA’s embassy, from 1968-75.

Barbara Helsingius was the mother of two daughters.

Helsingius’ family lives in Espoo.

Barbara Helsingius passed away at 79 years old.
