Bahman Golbarnezhad was born on June 12, 1968, and died on September 17, 2016.

He was an Iranian Paralympic racing cyclist.

He competed in C4 classification events and an earlier powerlifter.

Over thse period of his powerlifting career he won twelve gold medals and one silver medal in international competitions.

He had represented Iran in two Summer Paralympic Games, first in 2012 in London and later in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

Bahman was the only Iranian cyclist at the 2016 Paralympics.

Golbarnezhad was a veteran of the Iran–Iraq war.

He died in an accident which occurred during the 2016 Summer Paralympics’ men’s C4-5 road cycling event.

Bahman Golbarnezhad passed away at 48 years old.
