William Edward “B. E.” Taylor was born in 1951, and died on August 7, 2016.

He was the lead singer of the pop rock band B. E. Taylor Group and a solo artist.

The group had a 1983 single, “Vitamin L”, reached No. 66 on the Billboard 100 singles chart.

Hailing from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, he was the eldest of three sons of Bill and Betty Taylor.

His brothers are David A. Taylor, and Dan Taylor.

B. E. Taylor also has three nieces and three nephews.

B. E. Taylor was born William Edward but was called ‘Billy Eddie’ by his mother, which he eventually shortened to B. E.

Taylor relocated to Wheeling, West Virginia in the mid-1980s.

In his solo career, Taylor has recorded five albums and developed a following in the adult contemporary market with his annual Christmas tours.

William had also performed for many popular television programs in the 1990s, including the award-winning LightMusic, for which he was the music director, Nickelodeon, and its night-time programming block, Nick At Nite.

During 1984, the B. E. Taylor Group scored MTV video rotation and a Billboard regional No. 1 hit with the song “Vitamin L.”

The current guitarist, Rick Witkowski, was also a member of the progressive rock band, Crack the Sky. In 2008, Taylor was awarded the Duquesne University Lifetime Achievement Award.

He died due to complications of an inoperable brain tumor.

He was survived by his wife Veronica (Née DeBlasis) Taylor and two children.

B. E. Taylor passed away at 65 years old.
