Dead, Arthur Dorward, born March 3, 1925 and died August 4, 2015, he was a Scottish international rugby union player.

Dorward was born in 1925 in Galashiels.

He was capped fifteen times for Scotland between 1950-1957. He also played for Gala RFC.

Dorward died in 2015 in Melrose at the age of 90.

His brother Tom Dorward was also capped for Scotland.

Donald Scott, a fellow international who played for Langholm and Watsonians, said: “A first class gent, he was a tremendously good rugby player who should have had more caps.

He was a player you always wanted in your team.”
