Armando Nieto Vélez was born on October 24, 1931 and died on March 27, 2017.

He was a jesuit priest and Peruvian historian.

Nieto’s parents were Manuel R. Nieto and Rosa Vélez Picasso.

Nieto studied in Colegio de la Inmaculada (The Jesuit Fathers School) in Lima (1938–1948).

Nieto got into the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

Nieto was proffesor of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, and was ordained a priest by the Society of Jesus, in Frankfurt am Main Cathedral, in August 28, 1964.

Nieto was also the Director of the Peruvian Center of Studies Historic-Militar, Director of Riva Agüero Institute and President of National Academy of History.

Armando Nieto Vélez passed away at 85 years old.
