Rubén Galván was born on April 7, 1952, in Comandante Fontana, Formosa and died on March 14, 2018.

He was an Argentine football midfielder.

He played for Club Atlético Independiente for most of his career.

Internationally, Galván was part of the Argentina squad that won the 1978 FIFA World Cup on home soil.

He was nicknamed el Negro, Galván had a bout with Hepatitis C that required a liver transplant in 2007.

Ruben died due to cirrhosis in March 2018.

He died at 65 years old.
