Aquinas Ryan died in 2017.
He was a Canadian politician.
He was the leader of the Prince Edward Island New Democratic Party from 1972 to 1979.
Ryan ran as the party’s candidate in Cardigan in the 1972 federal election, finishing with 14.2 per cent of the vote — which was a historically strong result for the party in the province — and was thus selected as the provincial party’s leader later in 1972 following the resignation of David Hall.
Aquinas Ryan passed away at 84 years old.
