Anthony Xu Ji-wei was born on April 2, 1934, in Shanghai, and died on September 25, 2016.

He was a Roman Catholic bishop.

He has ancestral ties to Ningbo and undertook seminary training from 1948 to 1958.

He was sentenced to 5 years of hard labour in 1960.

Anthony was ordained to the priesthood in 1985, he served as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Taizhou, China from 2010 to 2016.

He was provincial director of the Patriotic Catholic Association and a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC.

Anthony Xu Ji-wei passed away at 81 years old.
