Anna Pump, American baker & cookbook author, died at 81

Anna Pump, born on April 11, 1934 and died on October 5, 2015.

Anna was a chef, cookbook author, baker, and innkeeper famous for her Hamptons bakery Loaves & Fishes.

She is the author of four bestselling cookbooks and the owner of the Bridgehampton Inn.

Notably, Anna was a mentor to Ina Garten, of Food Network fame, who writes the forward to Pump’s most recent cookbook Summer on a Plate.

She can also sometimes be seen as a guest on Garten’s Barefoot Contessa.

Anna was killed while crossing to the north side of Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, near the post office, when she was struck by a pickup truck heading west the evening of October 5, 2015.

Anna was taken to Southampton Hospital by Bridgehampton Fire Department ambulance where she succumbed to her injuries.

Anna Pump passed away on October 5, 2015 at age 81.
