Anjan Dutta was born on April 13, 1952, in the Sibsagar district of Assam, and died on June 16, 2016.
He was the current president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee.
He was a politician from Assam and served as minister of transport.
He was also the editor of Mahekiya Anubhuti(an Assamese monthly magazine).
Dutta has served as MLA from the Amguri Constituency three times.
Anjan was the Vice President of Assam Olympic Association, President of Sivsagar District Sports Association and also an executive member of the Governing body of Assam Cricket Association.
Before that, Szt. Dutta was the head, he chair of the president of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress Committee and also served as the Chairman of North East Youth Congress Co-ordination committee.
Whilst he served as a minister of transport, Szt. Dutta revived the almost dying Assam State Transport Department and has received great accolades far and wide for doing so.
Served as an industry minister, he brought life and vigour in the Assam Tea Corporation and set benchmarks for his colleagues and other promising ministers.
Ananya was his wife, with who Anjan had 3 daughters with.
Anjan Dutta passed away at 64 yrs old.
