Amjad Farid Sabri (Shaheed) was born on December 23, 1970, and died in 2016, in Karachi.

He was a Pakistani qawwali singer.

He was the son of Ghulam Farid Sabri.

Sabri came from a long line of legendary qawwals.

He inherited the art and charm Qawwali from his father Ghulam Farid Sabri – a qawwali extraordinaire and maestro himself.

Amjad was a man with international fame, he had a voice rich with the emotion of a faithful devotee.

Sabri began to learning qawwali at the very young age of nine years from the best teacher under the sun, his own father.

He matured into a musical prodigy, Amjad joined his father on stage to perform at the age of 12 years and people fell in love with him, in 1988, and since then, he was one of the most acclaimed qawwals in the subcontinent, having performed across the world.

Amjad Farid Sabri was attacked by two armed motorcyclists when he was traveling in Liaquatabad Town in his Honda Civic.

The gunmen on motorcyclists opened fire at his car critically injuring Sabri, an associate and his driver, the three men including Sabri were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

After which Dr Rohina Hasan confirmed Sabri’s death in the hospital.

Reportedly, Sabri was shot twice in the head and once on the ear.

Amjad Sabri passed away in 2016, by assassination.
