American heiress, hotelier and philanthropist, Caroline Rose Hunt, Died at 95

Caroline Rose Hunt was born on January 8, 1923, and died on November 13, 2018.

She was an American heiress, hotelier, and philanthropist.

She was at one time the wealthiest lady in the United States.

Caroline Rose Hunt is known for having been the originator of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, which she opened in 1979. , the little girl of oilman H. L. Chase (1889– 1974) and Lyda Bunker (1889– 1955).

Hunt had six kin: Margaret Hunt Hill (1915– 2007), H. L. Chase III (1917– 2005), Lyda Bunker Hunt (conceived and kicked the bucket in 1925), Nelson Bunker Hunt (1926– 2014), William Herbert Hunt (conceived 1929), and Lamar Hunt (1932– 2006).

While she was growing up, the family lived in the east Texas town of Tyler.

Chase said that as a kid, she was ignorant of the family’s riches until the point when she found a Life magazine image of her dad, “with an inscription that asked, ‘Is this the most extravagant man on the planet?’ ”

Hunt was taught at the Hockaday School, an all-young lady all-inclusive school in Dallas.

Caroline Rose Hunt at that point gone to Mary Baldwin College, a private ladies’ school in Staunton, Virginia for a long time, until the point when she exchanged to the University of Texas at Austin, where she got a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and craftsmanship history.

Chase was hitched twice.

Her first spouse was Loyd Bowmer Sands, a pilot in the United States Navy.

They had five youngsters: Laurie Sands Harrison. She hitched Frank Walls Harrison III.

David Sands. He hitched Nancy Goldman Sands. Patrick Bryan Sands. He wedded Sara Faulconer Sands. Caroline John Bunker Sands. He hitched Ramona Stark Sands. Stephen Sands. He hitched Marcy Wilson Sands.

After they separated in 1973, Caroline wedded a second time, to Buddy Schoellkopf. They later separated. Chase passed on November 13, 2018 from a stroke.

She died at 95 years old.
