American engineer, Harry L. Ettlinger, Died at 92

Heinz Ludwig Chaim “Harry” Ettlinger was born on January 28, 1926, in Karlsruhe, Germany and died on October 21, 2018.

He was one of the Monuments Men.

Ettlinger and Richard Barancik, a fellow Monuments Man, were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on October 22, 2015.

He moved from Germany with his folks and his two siblings in September 1938.

When they landed in the United States they originally lived in Manhattan, in the long run settling in Newark, New Jersey, where he moved on from East Side High School.

In the wake of leaving the administration, he went to Newark College of Engineering (now New Jersey Institute of Technology) on the GI bill, graduating with a BS in a mechanical building in 1950.

He resided in Rockaway Township, New Jersey,

Harry L. Ettlinger passed away at 92 years old.
