American college basketball coach, Vic Bubas, Died at 91

Vic Bubas was born on January 28, 1927 and died on April 16, 2018.

He was a college basketball coach for Duke University.

He graduated from Gary Lew Wallace High School in 1944.

Upon completing high school he enrolled at the University of Illinois, playing the 1944-45 season for the Fighting Illini.

Then, he went on to North Carolina State University where he played for Everett Case.

He was an All-Southern Conference selection twice.

After Bubas graduated in 1951 he stayed on as a freshman coach until 1955 and as a varsity assistant coach until he was hired by Duke University in 1959.

He retired from coaching in 1969 and then served as a Duke administrator, eventually becoming the Vice-President of the university.

During 2007 he was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame
