Alvise Zorzi was born on June 10, 1922, and died on May 14, 2016.

He was an Italian journalist and writer from the city of Venice.

Elio Zorzi was his father, a journalist and the director of the Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica of the Biennale di Venezia in the years immediately following World War II.

Alvise Zorzi was the director of cultural programs for RAI, Italy’s state television network and was a member of the UESCO committee for Venice.

Alvise Zorzi authored many books on the history and civilization of Venice, including biographies of Carlo Goldoni, Marco Polo, Titian and prominent denizens of the city of bridges.

His last book was published during his lifetime is Nappoleone e Venezia, which went into print in 2010.

Alvise Zorzi passed away at 93 yrs old.
