Ali Ahmed Hussain Khan was born on March 21, 1939, in Kolkata, and died on March 16, 2016.

He was a shehnai specialist from India.

Wazir Ali Khan, his grandfather, who was the first to demonstrate Indian classical music on shehnai at Buckingham Palace.

Ali Jan Khan, his father and gurus late uncle Nazir Hussain Khan and late Imdad Hussain Khan of Benares were also renowned shehnai specialists.

He was a teacher on the subject of shehnai at Sangeet Research Academy, Calcutta since 1974.

Ali Ahmed Hussain Khan was often aired on All India Radio and Indian Television.

Ali Ahmed Hussain Khan is the holder of the distinction of composing the signature tune for Indian Television with Pandit Ravi Shankar.

Hussain Khan has played jugalbandhi both commercially and in live performances with artists such as Vilayat Hussain Khan, Pandit Manilal Nag on sitar, V. G. Jog on violin and Munewar Ali Khan, vocals.

He has done many works under a variety of labels.

Hussain Khan has received many awards including the Tansen Samarooh, Gold Medal awarded by Mr.M Farooque in Bihar Sharif, the Indian Classical Music Circle Of Austin held at Austin USA awarded him a certificate of Excellence and the Bishwa Banga Sammelan Award given by the Honourable Speaker of the Parliament Of India Mr.Somnath Chatterjee.

Ali Ahmed Hussain Khan passed away at 77 yrs old.
