Alfred C. Marble, Jr., American Episcopal prelate, Died at 80

Alfred Clark Marble, Jr. (known as “Chip”) was born on April 4, 1936, and died on March 30, 2017.

He was a bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States.

Marble was consecrated to the episcopate on June 15, 1991, and was bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi from 1993 to 2003.

When he retired, Mable served as assisting bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.

He studied at the University of Mississippi, the University of the South’s School of Theology, and the University of Edinburgh.

In his time in North Carolina, he was involved in setting up the Greensboro Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Alfred C. Marble, Jr passed away at 80 years old.
