Alan Loveday was born on February 29, 1928, in Palmerston North, New Zealand and died on April 12, 2016.

He was a New Zealand-born British violinist.

His album includes, The Four Seasons, La Stravaganza, Violin Concertos From “L’estro Armonico”, Op. 3, Le quattro stagioni and more.

He was well known for ‘Four Seasons with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and Neville Marriner, launched in 1970, which sold more than 500,000 copies and is still regarded as one of his greatest.

Alan started playing the violin at the age of two, taught by his father, Leslie, on a specially made eighth-size violin.

By the time he was just age four, he gave his first concerts.

After gaining enough money, he left for London to further his studies, shortly after, in 1944 he was awarded a scholarship to the Royal College of Music.

He got married to wife, Ruth Stanfield in 1952, they had 2 children, one died, (son).

Alan Loveday passed away at 88 yrs old.
