Maximo Agustín Mantilla Campos was born on December 10, 1944, and died on November 20, 2015.
He was a Peruvian economist, sociologist and politician.
Born in 1944 in Lima, Maximo studied economics at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and Sociology at the Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega.
Since 1965, Maximo has enrolled himself in the Peruvian Aprista Party, where he was the secretary general from 1992 to May 1995.
Maximo served as private secretary of former President Alan García from 1979 to 1985 On March 13, 2000 Agustín Mantilla received $ 30,000 from Vladimiro Montesinos.
In 2002, Maximo Mantilla was sentenced to six years in prison for the crime of corruption of officials.
Maximo passed away at age 70 in November 2015.
