Abu Qasim died on October 29, 2015.

He was known as a Pakistani militant, as the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Abu Qasim first came under the police scanner in 2010, after the recovery of a car laden with explosives on the outskirts of Srinagar.

Abu Qasim has been operating in the Valley for the last six years before he was shot dead by police.

Qasim, a resident of Bhawalpur in Multan.

He was one of the most wanted commanders in the Valley, according to the police and it was said that he had planned the Udhampur attack and had managed to evade the security forces for many years.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was also said to have been looking for Qasim after he had captured Pakistani militant.

He was sparsely responsible for carrying out the August 5 attack at Udhampur in which two BSF personnel were killed.

Qasim managed to escape the police and the Army and reached his hideout in South Kashmir, On October 7, after killing J&K Police Sub Inspector Altaf Dar, a top counter insurgency officer who was chasing him and his associates.

A top police officer said Qasim was the main recruiter for the Lashkar in the Valley currently.

Abu Qasim was killed on October 29, 2015.
