Abish Kekilbayev was born on December 6, 1939, and December 11, 2015.
He was a Kazakh politician.
Abish was a public and political figure, Hero of Labor, the National writer of Kazakhstan, the laureate of the State Prize, a philologist, academician of the Academy of Social Sciences, the Emeritus Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and of the L. Gumilyov Eurasian State University.
He graduated from philological faculty of the S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University, in 1962 .
During the Soviet period, he has worked as the deputy minister of culture of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, the second secretary of board of the Union of writers, the head of department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Kazakhstan, the editor-in-chief of the Yegemen Kazakhstan newspaper and the head of literature and art department of the Leninshyl zhas newspaper editorial office.
The minister was elected to serve as the deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the 12th and chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the thirteenth convocations, the chairman of Committee on national policy, cultural development and language of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On the eve of Kazakhstan independence Abish Kekilbaye vwas addressing the issues of Kazakh language, national history, socio-cultural aspects and international relations.
He was appointed the deputy of the Senate of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2003.
Abish was a member of National Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan and a member of the Organization of the Central Asian states and a member of group of cooperation with the Congress of the USA, with House of Councillors of Japan, with the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia.
Abish Kekilbayev passed away at 76 yrs old.
